TUESDAY: Pack the Statehouse to Support Trans Youth and Defeat H.4608

On Tuesday, May 3, we expect the South Carolina Senate to discuss H.4608, the anti-transgender student sports bill, which has already passed the SC House. This is one of the last chances for our coalition and any support of transgender dignity to block this discriminatory legislation from becoming law.

We need allies and accomplices to pack the gallery to support transgender youth and legislative champions as they fight this bill. We’d love to see non-LGBTQ+ allies to come out and be visible, in full force, demonstrating love and care for the transgender youth in our communities. Recent debate on the bill has been especially challenging and can be hard for trans folks to be subjected to, so we’d love non-trans allies to shoulder the burden in this final stretch of the legislative session.

Can you please commit to being in Columbia at the Statehouse on Tuesday, May 3? We will gather at 12:30pm ET so we can show lawmakers that there is a strong community of South Carolinians who oppose H.4608 and support trans youth in our state. If debate on the bill continues, we may need additional support on Wednesday, May 4.

Please let us know if you can attend – just sign up here, and we’ll keep you posted with all of the logistical details:
