Let’s come together during the first week of the 2024 session in Columbia, SC to make our voices heard loud and clear that South Carolinians will do everything in our power to preserve dignity and equality for all.

Kenya Cummings on our Organizing team connected with hundreds of South Carolinians organizing against anti-LGBTQ+ bills last year. In 2024, they’re running a team of organizers from the Uplands to Low Country to make sure our friends and neighbors are ready to speak out for our rights when it matters most.

Donations will go toward supporting rapid response organizers in key regions across the state so they can put pressure on lawmakers when and where it will matter most.

Today is World AIDS Day, a time to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and honor those who have lost their lives to AIDS related illnesses. The theme of this year’s World AIDS day is “Remember and Commit”. The word “remember” encourages us to take time to honor those we have lost. The word “commit” implores us to take collective action towards health equity for people living with HIV. At South Carolina United for Justice & Equality, we invite you to join us in committing to end HIV criminalization in our state.

This Wednesday, March 15, at 9:00am, the Senate Subcommittee on Education is scheduled to consider H.3728 – a dangerous bill that would censor speech of educators across the state to ban discussion of racism and LGBTQ issues.
